David Zelder, born in West Yorkshire, spent much of his early career in the oil industry, ultimately being responsible for heading the UK retail operation for an American Oil firm. Then he was appointed General Manager of a large division of a UK plc. From there he joined the board of an electronics company, followed by becoming a director of two USA based management consultancies. His final full time role was Chief Executive of a British plc which was losing over £100,000 per month when he took over. David was successful in turning it round in two years. It now makes substantial profits. In 2008, David decided to fully retire early to enjoy life with his wife Pauline, who also negotiated early retirement from her role as a banker. The couple, then living in North Yorkshire spent three years searching for their ideal retirement spot. They now live on the 4th floor of a luxury apartment block in the beautiful city of Lincoln, overlooking the River Witham. They enjoy a full life, taking their 23 ft cruiser out for long trips on the rivers and canals of England and taking in the eclectic mix of cultural delights that abound in Lincolnshire as well as enjoying frequent holidays.
